課程概述 Course Description

本課程引導學生使用史隆巡天計畫 (Sloan Digital Sky Survey) 之公開天文觀測資料庫，以Python程式進行資料讀取，計算，及畫出分析圖形，並進行分析討論。
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to explore Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) on-line public data archive. We will use Python as a tool to read and calculate the data, to display analysis results, and to perform analysis and discussion.

課程學習目標 Course Objectives

  • 從實際的天文觀測數據中推導出天文研究歷史中重要的發現，
  • 並根據實際數據與教科書上的定理進行比較與討論。
  • 學習使用數位工具進行資料的分析與呈現以達成研究目的。
  • 學習使用國際合作之大型學術研究資料庫，以了解最前端科學研究方法與合作方式。

    進度說明 Progress Description
    1簡介大數據時代的天文研究，介紹雲端天文觀測數據資料庫，Python入門。
    2天文資料庫採用參數之物理意義介紹，使用Python將資料庫中數據繪圖。實作：根據教師範例選擇天區之觀測參數以Python繪圖
    3紹星團及赫羅圖，從赫羅圖推導星團年齡。
    4介紹星系的紅位移，由哈伯圖推導哈伯常數，使用資料庫自行推導哈伯常數。
    5介紹天文影像分析軟體DS9,介紹星系顏色與其演化關係，合成出天文影像三色圖。
    　以上每週進度教師可依上課情況做適度調整。The schedule may be subject to change.
