課程概述 Course Description

環境變遷與人類生存、文化適應有密切及複雜的關係。一方面,環境影響人類生存,迫使人類在體質上、文化上做出相應的改變。另一方面,人類也會發明新工具和技術,利用自然資源、改變環境以滿足自身的需求。環境考古探討人在環境中如何適應及改變環境,如何使用科技方法重建古生態環境,如何分析考古資料來驗證研究推論。因此,本課程教學目標主要包括: 1.從人類學和考古學理論探討人類體質、社會文化與政治經濟等三個面向和生態環境之間的互動關係。 2.教授研究古代生態環境的方法。 3.介紹相關研究案例。
Environmental changs have close and complicated relationships with human survivals and cultural adaptation. On the one hand, environment affects human survival, which forces human beings adjucts physically or culturally. On the other hand, human can develop new technologies and tools, employ natural resources, and transform environment to satisfy their needs. Environmental archaeology discuss how human beings adapt to and transform environment, how researchsers use scientific methods to reconstruct past ecological systems, and how we analyze archaeological data to examine certian theories and propositions. Therefore, the course objectives contain: 1.discussing the interaction of ecological environment, physical, socio-culural, and political-economy from the theorectical perspectives of anthropology and archaeology, 2.lecturing the methods of analyzing ancient ecological environment, 3.introducting some case studies.
