課程概述 Course Description

癌症一直是造成人類死亡的可怕疾病之一,因此若能充分瞭解癌症分子機制將有望對治癒病人的目標邁進一大步。雖然過去以幾十年來許多科學家對於癌症研究都有重大發現,但是越來越多具有爭議的議題不斷產生。此創新開發課程會透過找尋最新發表的癌症研究文獻進行閱讀並將學生分組分別當成支持或反對兩方來進行辯論與小組溝通演練,此目的乃是要更進一步檢驗這些有趣的爭論點,並加以辯證。此外本課程也可幫助學生藉由最具公信力及最近期之文獻學習邏輯思考以增加學生對於癌症研究之科學文章寫作的技巧。
Cancer is world-widely one of horrible and life-threatening diseases. Enormous amount of efforts have been thrown into cancer researches, not only because a curable therapeutic strategy is still short-handed and urgently needed, but also because understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms may facilitating our comprehension about life. Although lots of discoveries in cancer research have been newly yielded in past decades, equal amounts of uncertainties and debates are being accumulated. The main purpose of this course is to closely examine these controversies and to scientifically argue about these issues. This course will help students critically think through the most prestigious and updated literature. This course will hopefully equip students with handful skills in writing a scientific manuscript regarding cancer researches.
