課程概述 Course Description

本密集課程旨在為所選出的6名學生做好準備以面對來自南歐的新形態考古物質資料、與過去可能未曾接觸的田野方法。且本課程和其後學生將參加在希臘為期五週的研究計畫相繫,考量田野現場難有足夠時間進行教學,學生們必須在本課程中盡速熟悉田野工作的實踐。 為達此目標,本課程將涵蓋如下內容:(一)針對該時期(希臘新石器時代晚期)、該地區(希臘北部、巴爾幹半島南部)的文獻回顧;(二)現今對該遺址(Toumba Serron)的理解,並發展未來調查和發掘所必備的知識、技能、及其實用性。包含熟悉Toumba Serron的物質文化,如:陶器、石器、貝、骨、黏土等;並掌握方法論的各個面向,加上實際演練操作紀錄系統,與特定工具的使用,如:無人機、網格繪製、攝影桅桿、全站儀、浮選法設備等。
This short intensive course aims to prepare a selected group of 6 students to face a new type of archaeological material coming from Southern Europe and to confront them with other fieldwork methodologies they might not have faced before. This is entirely related to the fact that, immediately following this course, the students will get involved in a 5-week research program in Greece for which they need to be operational as quickly as possible, considering the little time available on site. To achieve this goal, the course will cover: 1) a literature review of what we know about the period (Late Neolithic Greece), and the area (Northern Greece, Southern Balkans); and 2) what we know about the site of Toumba Serron, and most importantly, develop the necessary knowledge and skills for the coming survey and excavation, and all its practicalities. The latter will consist in getting acquainted with the material culture from Toumba Serron: pottery, lithic, shells, bones, clay, etc.; and in mastering the various aspects of the methodology, with many practical rehearsals with the recording system, and with the use of specific tools such as: drone, drawing grid, mast for pictures, total station, flotation device, etc.
