課程概述 Course Description

伊斯蘭在歐洲的歷史約可分為三個時期。第一時期為自西元七世紀建立西亞阿拉伯半島後,於八世紀初經由北非進入歐陸的伊比利半島開始。穆斯林在所謂的安達魯西亞(al-Andalus)建立政權,長達七個世紀之久,於十五世紀末(1495 AD)被天主教徒政權打垮,此即歐洲史上所稱的「Reconquesta」(再征服、收復)。穆斯林在此地區的經營融合了伊斯蘭、基督宗教、猶太教等宗教文化創造了承先啟後相當輝煌的文化與文明,形塑地中海地區多元性的文化與文明體制,間接影響了歐洲中世紀、近代宗教文化與文明的發展。第二時期為歐斯曼帝國(the Osmani Empire)的征服君士坦丁堡(1453 AD)後,伊斯蘭勢力進一步被導入東歐與東南歐(巴爾幹半島),深化兩地區多元性文化的發展,亦促進基督宗教與伊斯蘭的交融與對話。伊斯蘭在此地區的發展持續到二十世紀初歐斯曼帝國的瓦解。第三時期則是歐洲殖民伊斯蘭世界之間,穆斯林透過殖民母國的移民政策,再次移入歐洲,建立新的宗教文化社群,甚至在後殖民時期伊斯蘭透過穆斯林移民持續在歐洲發展,至今已蔚然形成了有別於其他地區的「歐洲伊斯蘭」(European Islam)。本課程旨在建構歐洲伊斯蘭史觀,探討非伊斯蘭國家中的伊斯蘭少數群體(Aqalliyyah)的宗教文化認同,以及其世界觀。
The history of Islam in Europe can be divided into three periods. The first period is from the 8th century onwords when Muslims invaded Andalusia in the Iberia Peninsula and established the Islamic states, until the Reconqesta that led to Muslims’ being expelled out of Andalusia. During this period, Muslim regimes constructed a system of magnificent integrated civilization and culture. The second period startes the Osmani conquer of Constantinople till the collapse of the Osmani Empire. In this period, eastern and southestern Europe was assimilated into Dar al-Islam creating Osmani-oriented European Islam. The third period is from the onset of 20th century until present time. In this period, due to European colonialization Muslims from the colonies were brought into Europe forming Muslim minority communities to shape the so-called European Islam which is distinguished from that in other parts of Islamic world. This course aims to construct the comprehensive conceipt of Islamic hisotry in Europe and to explore the theory of Muslim minority (Aqalliyyah) communitues in non-Islamic countries, especially how the influences of Islamic legacy on modern European culture and civilization.
