課程概述 Course Description
政治學方法論之範圍包含方法論、研究概論、質性研究與量化研究等議題。本學期之政治學方法論擬以調查研究法為重點開始探討,調查研究法目前於國內成為瞭解政治事務與社會現象不可或缺之重要方法與工具。不論於學術界、政府或民間機構經常施行各種調查以探測民意。調查研究法更綜合政治學方法論之所有應具備之學習元素,並實際操作。 本學期之學習內容是以量化調查研究為主軸發展,包含抽樣、調查設計、問卷設計、信效度測量、各種訪問方法與資料處理等,希望於課程講授與實際操作中,使學生可更理解政治學方法論,並期待理論與實務合而為一。his course is continuing Methodology of Political Science (I). The aim of this course is to introduce students basic methods to proceed a political research by distinguishing qualitative from quantitative methods. This course provides a convergent approach to face this dichotomy. Non-parametric statistical methods describe and test relations between qualitative variables. Conversely, various methods usually considered qualitative, notably interviewing and content analysis, often find application in the data-making and coding steps of quantitative analyses. This course aims at building students firmly foundation in designing and commenting political research through such diverse ontology and techniques of political inquiry. After having taken this course, students were at least introduced to a family of qualitative techniques that the academic circle have found useful in the conduct of empirical political research, ranging widely in terms of their degree of formality. Students were introduced to design their own research and comment others researches. Students can nevertheless find in this course introductions to an array of skills that they should find useful, both for academic and practical purposes, throughout their careers.
