This course "Special Topics in Molecular Gerontology" aims to encourage students to acquire knowledge of new current progression in molecular gerontology. As aging human population has increased dramatically, age-related diseases, such as neurodegenerative disorders and cancers, have posed a major threat to the future development of human society. Therefore, the challenge of modern biomedical research is how to promote a not only long but also healthy life. To develop better preventive and therapeutic approaches against aging and age-related diseases, it is essential to understand gerontology, the study of aging, at the molecular, cellular and physiological levels.
