課程概述 Course Description蛋白質轉譯是維持細胞功能很重要的步驟，如果蛋白質轉譯功能失調，將會引起很多疾病。本課程希望透過1)介紹基本的蛋白質轉譯步驟; 2)介紹蛋白質轉譯如何影響基因表達及3)介紹蛋白質轉譯失調與疾病的關聯。期望透過此課程讓研究生對於蛋白質轉譯領域研究有一定程度了解，並引發研究生學習動機，及引導解決問題的能力。此課程於每一個段落會有英文期刊報告及討論。
Protein translation is one of the most critical cellular processes in the cell. The misregulation of translation will often lead to disease, including cancer, infectious diseases, neurological diseases, metabolic diseases, immunological diseases, etc. Better understanding of this relevant biological process will provide opportunities to treat these diseases. This lecture will start from introducing the basics of how translation machinery works following by introducing how protein translation regulates gene expression. The lecture will be ended by showing examples regarding misregulation of translation in diseases. Besides lectures, intensive discussions of experimental design and future directions will a major part of this course.
