課程概述 Course Description
濕地是介於陸棲與水域之生態系,提供生物棲息環境成為食物鏈中不可缺少的生產者製造區,濕地環境管理需跨領域從濕地科學、生態學、化學、水文學、工程學等多元化學科切入。其探討可從濕地水文、濕地的化學物質轉換、生物對環境濕地之適應性、濕地管理、濕地保育及復育工程等面向深入瞭解其與生物多樣性間之變化與關係。認知濕地科學應用於濕地保育及濕地管理的成效,包含各專業在地參與機制、生態監測方式、生態改善工程措施、保育策略擬定、在地非營利組織夥伴關係、與濕地環境教育的導入。本課程將以跨領域學科的交互對話,導入國際經驗,以探討濕地環境目前遇到的問題與相因應的可能管理策略。Wetlands support life, both terrestrial and aquatic, along all parts of the food chain. The ecosystem services provided by wetlands are not just the backbone of the water and food systems we depend on, but provide climate regulation, flood mitigation, cultural richness, and economic opportunities. The creation of wise-use management plans for wetlands requires both interdisciplinary and stakeholder collaboration. This course will incorporate interdisciplinary thinking, with professors from Taiwan and the United States, to explore options for better management of coastal wetlands. Through fieldwork, students in this course will implement the theories discussed and help conduct participatory research to better understand the ecosystem services provided by coastal wetlands in Southwestern Taiwan.
