課程概述 Course Description陶器自新石器時代開始即廣泛地出現在全球各地，由於陶器的質地堅硬，在大部分的考古遺址中都能保存下來，因此通常是最為豐富的考古遺物。陶器在考古學領域中一向是重要的分析與研究對象。考古學者藉由陶器的相似性討論族群的遷徙與文化的交流，也從陶器的工藝特徵討論器物的製作流程、社會關係、使用功能、象徵系統等等。本課程主要介紹陶器分析的議題、理論與方法。另外，還會從不同的案例中學習台灣及周邊地區史前陶器的演變。
Ceramics are widely found all over the world from the beginning of the Neolithic period. They are usually the most abundant archeological relic due to their hard texture and being preserved in most archeological sites. Ceramics have always been important objects for analysis and research in the field of archeology. Archeologists discuss the migration and cultural exchange of ethnic groups through the similarities of ceramics, and they also discuss the production sequences, social relations, functions, and symbolic systems from the technological characteristics of ceramics. This course mainly introduces the issues, theories and methods of ceramic analysis. In addition, we will also learn from different cases the evolution of prehistoric ceramics in Taiwan and the surrounding areas.
