課程概述 Course Description

根據許多研究指出,癌症轉移藉由癌細胞與繼發器官(secondary organ)上內皮細胞(epithelial cell)間的結合而具有組織特異性(tissue specificity)。因此,在無法防止癌症形成之際,若可試圖阻斷癌細胞轉移,將會是一個極具發展潛力的方向。目前研究癌症的科學家不斷地探討及發現新的癌症轉移機制,並發表成果於世界各大知名期刊。本課程乃是一種創新開發的教學法,學生將能從其中得到世界上最新的資訊,並透過辯論與溝通演練式的小組教學,辯證文獻內容的科學正確性,將有助於提升學生對於癌症轉移研究的興趣,且提高未來學生進入此領域從事研究的可能性。
Numerous studies have unveiled that tumor cells are competent in adhering to the endothelial cells of secondary organ prior to formation of tissue-specific metastasis. Accurately understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms may pharmaceutically benefit the development of cancer therapeutics against cancer metastasis. Recently, vigorous efforts have been made in the field of cancer metastasis, followed by publishing these results in prestige SCI journals with high impacts. In this course, the latest publications will be discussed. Students are grouped and debated the rationale, logic, experimental design, and conclusions, inspiring students who willing to devote to the field of cancer biology research in the future.
