課程概述 Course Description

本課程首先概述了文化資產與考古學的歷史、政治和文化淵源,其次將著重在國內外考古學的研究案例,探討聯合國教科文組織等機構,以及主要的公約與協議對世界文化遺產和考古所產生的影響。梳理文化資產的領域如何從古蹟建築擴充到考古、景觀以及非物質和工業遺產。 課程進行將以討論會的方式進行,針對當前文化資產與考古遺址面臨的危害、國際法規以及新興的遺產管理策略等問題進行辯論。並考量實際的因素,例如公共政策、國際組織、法律框架,以及民族主義和戰爭等因素在歷史上如何影響考古遺址。除此之外,也會分析武裝衝突和環境惡化等當代威脅的影響,並針對遺產的真實性、所有權、身份認定、責任歸屬和新興的定義進行討論。
This course provides an overview on cultural heritage and archaeology, their historical, political, and cultural origins and the role of UNESCO and other agencies in their development around the world. It identifies and discusses with exemplification the major conventions and protocols affecting world heritage and archaeology. It shows how world heritage expanded from built heritage, to archaeology, landscapes, and intangible and industrial heritages. The course will provide numerous case studies coming from all over the world and will place a particular attention to archaeology. Throughout the course we will explore and debate issues such as the current threats to cultural heritage, archaeological sites, international law, and emerging strategies for heritage management. We will learn about practical considerations, such as public policy, international organizations, legal frameworks, as well as how factors such as nationalism and war have impacted archaeological sites over the centuries. We will look at modern threats to cultural heritage—such as armed conflict, and environmental degradation —and will engage in current debates about ownership, identity, responsibility, authenticity, and definitions of heritage.
