課程概述 Course Description
本課程的目標在於使政治系的同學對於統計原理有所瞭解,並進而產生使用量化方法探索社會現象的興趣。課程重點在於帶領同學理解統計的基本概念,並透過操作軟體 (以R程式語言為主) 來實際運用統計分析。透過統計概念的解說與軟體的實際使用,希望同學在課程結束後能夠具備以量化方式探索社會現象的基本能力,針對自己感興趣的議題,能夠描述與呈現資料,並進而根據資料特質歸納出有意義的分析。This course is an introduction to statistics designed for students in political science. Emphasis will be placed on statistical reasoning and data analysis. Students will be expected to use R to solve statistical problems. Upon successful course completion, a student will be able to apply statistical techniques in research of their interest, and use descriptive statistics to summarize data accurately and inferential statistics to make valid judgments.
