課程概述 Course Description

本課程的目標是要檢驗透過心理學理論(主要是社會心理學和認知心理學)與實證研究方法告訴我們的政治現象。藉由觀察個體的心理,進而檢驗政治現象為何發生,而非僅是描述單純的政治事件(像是誰贏得選舉)或是如何進行(如誰投票給誰)。舉例來說,本課程將會引導學生思考影響個體抉擇和形塑看法的因素是什麼?或者,個體為何認同特定的團體而非他者?而解答這些問題將能讓我們解釋一些政治社會現象,如媒體在政治中扮演的角色、為何人們認同政黨,以及誰贏得總統大選等。雖然此門課主要使用的閱讀文獻多數在關注在美國政治,但授課老師會多舉些台灣或兩岸關係的實例,請同學應用思考,同時仍會有其他國家的範例。 在學習了解這些主題意涵的課程中,我們亦同時會思索如何獲得知識:像是如何進行特定型態的研究,如何做出具有效度的結論,以及如何改善研究。除了期中和期末考,所有的同學都必須進行原創的政治心理學研究。
