課程概述 Course Description

I. Design and Conduct of Biomedical Research The theoretical and practical challenges to be considered in designing and conducting a biomedical research as well as high-dimensional experiments will be presented. Topics to be discussed include the specification of a primary objective, the choice of design strategy and design-strengthening features, and the considerations involved in sample size determination & power analysis. II. Analysis of Biomedical Research Methods of analysis appropriate to various designs, such as randomized parallel studies, crossover designs, factorial designs, group allocation designs, Bayesian designs, adaptive design, cohort design, case-control design, case-cohort design, and designs with repeated measures, will be presented. The statistical approach for continuous, categorical, and time-to-event endpoints will be discussed, the emphasis on understanding what the procedures do and applications to data analysis. The common errors in analysis of biomedical research and how to avoid them will be discussed. Issues related to statistical modeling strategy including horseshoe regularization for high-dimensional data with examples will also be presented.
