課程概述 Course Description

空間是考古學主要研究的範疇,舉凡古代聚落的分布、採集狩獵的區域及象徵的文化地景等都是空間分析的議題。另一方面,隨著地理資訊系統(Geographic Information System, GIS)科技的進步,考古學者也開始摸索如何將這門技術應用在田野記錄和空間資料分析上。本課程主要分為兩個部分:1)探討有關考古學中空間的議題,2)教授GIS的應用技術,解決考古學的空間問題。
Space is one of the main themes in archaeological research. It can include the issues of settlement distributions, hunting and gathering catchment, and symbolic cultural landscape. On the other hand, with the development of GIS technology, archaeologists start exploring how to apply it to field recording and spatial analysis. This course has two main part: 1) exploring the issues of space in archaeology, 2) teaching students the basic GIS knowledge to solve the archaeological questions of space.
