課程概述 Course Description
本課程之設計著重於幫助學生了解,發展中國家所遇過問題與特色。重點在於採用經濟分析方法,檢視一般或特定國家的政經社會情況及政策與成長表現之關連,並探討經濟部門個體/總體經濟學有關的當代議題。期望學生在修習這堂課之後,將會應用和延伸分析方法以剖析經濟發展的綜合且複雜議題。 經濟分析學習到研究相關的文獻和數據資料之蒐集與去蕪存菁,處理重要的資訊發展關鍵問題,最後做成學期報告。The ultimate goal that economic development is to improve the human well-being. The spirit of sustainable development - a concept proposed by United Nation in 1987, and then extended to eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in 2000 and to 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 - is focusing on the balancing of equality of society, the bearability of environment and the viability of economic long-term development. It is the discussion of long-term structure of its economic essence for the context of economic development, implying that to achieve economic development, many other aspects shall be concerned more than just economic growth. The figure below expresses the balancing relation between the three aspects. Bearing the belief that economic growth shall not be the adversary of environmental bearability and social equality, in order to achieve the whole well-being of human, this course is designed to explore and discuss the various factors that influence nation’s sustainable economic development from global, regional and country’s perspectives. The discussion of economic development of the less developed countries is emphasized. In addition, this course will apply the teaching of multi-disciplinary approach. The topic speeches of current global societal issues, such as US-China trade war will be covered. It is expected that students can develop their own perspective of economic development with both traditional social sciences and innovative scientific methods to achieve the most important and final goal as improving the overall sustainable well-being of human beings.
