課程概述 Course Description

Air pollutants affects human health and has been attracting great attention in recent years. Reducing misclassification in exposure assessment is critical for epidemiological studies. As personal monitoring is not generally feasible for large cohorts, methods to accurately assess within-city variability in exposure to fine particles are required. Nowadays, the development of geomatics presents effective means to predict the gradient pattern of pollution distribution and have been widely applied in air pollutions exposure assessment. By taking this course, students will learn how to estimate spatial-temporal variability of air pollutants using Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing technologies. Several spatial modeling methodologies such as spatial interpolation and Land-use Regression (LUR), and its applications on identifying individual’s exposed level to air pollutions will be introduced. The basic concepts of biometry, and its application on air pollution data management using R software will also be talked.
