課程概述 Course Description
本課程期許學生未來能成為各領域的領袖,或是能促成領袖的產生,因此他們必須要對於重要問題有基本的認識,才能勝任未來的任務。透過認識各個領域中對社會有巨大貢獻的人以及他們的理念與實踐,這一門課主要的目的是開拓學生的視野,激發想像力,並鼓勵學生要有遠大的志向。歷年來受邀請的講者,包括學者、社會改革者,運動者、企業家、科學家、文化工作者等等。College students might become leaders in the future, or they might play an important role in the making of leaders. This course aims at preparing students for their future tasks by introducing major issues that a leader or a team should know. The class invites people who have made great contributions to society in various fields to talk about their ideas, practices, and challenges. In doing so, we hope to broaden students' horizons, stimulate your imagination, and encourage you to have great aspirations. Invited speakers over the years have included scholars, social reformers, activists, political leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, and cultural workers. The topics range from business philosophy, legal justice, social enterprise, diplomatic relations, and Taiwan history, to philosophy of happiness and gay marriage. Students are required to attend the weekly lectures and write ten critique/reflection essays on the lectures of their choice.
