課程概述 Course Description

「合成生物學」意指將基因編程到達成任務的過程,基因元件以生物磚(Biobrick)為單元,以電腦或計算機等工具設計程式,結合實驗組裝元件使細胞進行一系列的工作,合成生物學可以由Biobrick從零開始來創造基因組,創造全新的結果。美國麻省理工學院在2004年發起了International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM)競賽,經驗十四年的發展,已經在歐美先進國家引起學術到業界的輻射效應。成大於2016年首次參加,同年獲金牌並最得提名Best Presentation及Best Diagnostic Project,經歷了四年,參與iGEM的師學生們已超過百人,此課程是以引領學生參加iGEM競賽,能發揚成功大學的三大特色:理工背景、完整學院(有工學院、醫學院、機電學院、設計規劃學院、生物科學院、管理學院、等九大學院)及台南人文底蘊;藉iGEM結合國際化與開拓視野,形成創新創業的發展方向。
"Synthetic biology" means the process of programming a gene into a task. The genetic component is designed in Biobrick, using a computer or computer to design a program, and combining experimental components to make the cell perform a series of work, synthetic organisms. Synthetic biology is one of the four fundamental disciplines for future revolutionary breakthroughs. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology launched the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM) competition in 2004. With 14 years of experience, it has caused academic-to-industry radiation effects in advanced countries in Europe and America. iGEM_NCKU team was initiated in 2016. In the same year, we won the gold medal and were also nominated for Best Presentation and Best Diagnostic Project. After four years, more than 100 teachers and students participated in iGEM in NCKU. Students participated in the iGEM competition are in highly motivation in academic study. They are also represented the three characteristics of a successful university, NCKU as: (1) complete Science and Technology, (2) nine colleges in NCKU including engineering, medical schools, mechanical and electrical, design college, biological sciences college, and management college) and (3) the cultural heritage of Tainan. In the future, iGEM_NCKU members are going to combine internationalization and open-minded opportunities to form innovative entrepreneurship between university and society.
