課程概述 Course Description

了解基因變異與疾病染病之關係和人類遺傳的基本原理
This class aims to discuss the statistical models and methods that are used to understand human genetics and discover genes that cause disease in humans from a historical perspective. Starting from Mendel’s laws to more recent genome-wide association studies, the course is designed to show how genetic information can be incorporated into various statistical models and study designs to discover disease genes. While topics to be covered include segregation analysis and linkage analysis etc., the focus is on modern approaches to association studies. Those who major in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, medicine, and molecular genetics, are potential students.
