課程概述 Course Description

本課程主要會介紹傳染病流行病學中較進階的主題,內容主要分三個部分:第一部分傳染病疫情調查實例討論(60%):第二部份介紹傳染病數學模型(20%),第三部分則針對一些在傳染病研究較有爭議的議題進行探討,例如流感疫苗在老年人的有效性、疫苗與藥品研究之利益衝突與對政策的影響等(20%)。
This course will introduce more advanced topics in infectious disease epidemiology and will include three parts. The first part is outbreak investigation case studies (60%). The second part is mathematical modeling of infectious diseases (20%). The last part will discuss some controversial issues in infectious disease research, such as the true effectiveness of influenza vaccine for the elderly, as well as conflicts of interests in vaccine/drug research and their effects on policy making (20%).
