課程概述 Course Description為了幫助生命科學相關領域的畢業生，能夠成功地在競爭激烈的就業市場得到一份合適的工作，學生必須在還未踏出學校前就先做好就業準備。本課程的目的是讓學生了解在完成碩士學位之後，有哪些就業機會可以選擇，並藉由履歷練習寫作及英語口說、聽力練習，增加自己的職場競爭力。因此，從本課程中，除了語言能力的培養，學生可以學習到如何寫作一份漂亮的履歷來當作敲門磚吸引面試官的注意，另外，也安排包括學研界、產業界、公部門等各領域專業人士的座談，給學生來一趟職場巡禮 (job tour)，並藉由面對面提問交流，幫助學生找出最適合自己的生涯發展方向。
In order to successfully navigate the competitive job market, students majoring in the biomedical sciences need to get ahead and start preparing for their career before they graduate. The purpose of this course is to allow students to gain a better understanding of the various career opportunities available to them, to practice writing a professional resume, and to enhance their English speaking and listening ability. Therefore, in addition to providing an English-only environment during in-class lectures, numerous experts from various fields pertaining to biomedical sciences will be invited to share their knowledge on a specific career field and their own experiences. Students will also be able to participate in Q&A sessions afterwards. At the end of the term students will be expected to give a short presentation on their career development plan.
