課程概述 Course Description本課程將談及言談分析的理論基礎，並且介紹言談分析在語言學及應用語言學的影響，包括語言教學、社會學、言談溝通、文學、人類學以及民族志學的研究。
This seminar course will first lay the theoretical ground of discourse analysis by introducing its relation with studies in linguistics/applied linguistics and other fields, such as language education, sociology, communication, literature, anthropology, and ethnographic studies. A few approaches and research methods used in discourse analysis will be covered. Topics covered include data collection and transcription, descriptive rules, structures and forms, initiations and responses, conversational exchanges, cohesion and coherence, prefaces and alignments, literary analysis, reference and co-reference, implicatures, speech acts, and conversational principles, etc. Raw data of various types will be analyzed and discussed during the seminar. The students are expected to present their own analyses and lead discussion on the topics assigned.
