課程概述 Course Description

自1944年 von Neumann & Morgenstern 的專書《賽局理論與經濟行為》 (The Theory of Games and Economic Behavior )以來,賽局理論即成為科學研究中一項極為重要的分析工具。尤其是在經濟學、政治學與社會學的研究中更產生了重要的影響。本課程旨在介紹賽局理論的一般概念,並透過與經濟分析的結合使同學對經濟現象有深一層的認知。 課程設計以理論介紹為主軸,在每一部份的理論架構下輔以經濟實例分析。課程內容大致分為兩部份:第一部份著重在賽局的基本概念與均衡分析;包含賽局的架構與納許均衡(Nash Equilibrium)的意義;並以靜態賽局兼動態行為來認識賽局分析及其差異。第二部份的重點則偏重在賽局的延伸及應用;探討在不確定下的各種可能賽局及其分析的方法。課程的設計以理論為核心,有意選修之同學應具備基本數理分析(諸如簡單微積分等)能力。一般經濟學原理課程中所提及的理論與概念將大量運用在本課程分析上,因此具備這些相關知識也將有助於將來的學習與理解。
Game theory, within the last several decades, has grown into one of the most important and popular tools used in understanding the interactions between individuals, institutes, or countries, especially in the fields of economics, business, politics and biology. Though it is based on a strong mathematic foundation, this course aims at providing the introductory concepts and techniques to the undergraduate students. The first half of this course will be devoted to explore the structure of the game by introducing different forms and styles of them and their solution concepts. The class will turn its focus on several popular applications and extensions of game theory uring the second half after students getting more familiar with the solution concepts.
