課程概述 Course Description

本課程的主要目的在訓練同學以數學為工具來描述和研究經濟現象,使同學們有足夠的數學知識來研讀更深入的經濟學。除了經濟學上常用的數學工具的傳授外,特別注重數學符號所代表的經濟意義。此課程將講授非線性最佳化理論,線性規劃,微分方程之應用等內容。
The objective of this course is to enhance the students’ ability to analyze economics using quantitative method and thus prepare them for advanced microeconomic analysis. The topics to be covered in the course are set theory (convex sets, open sets and closed sets, …etc.), univariate and multivariate functions (especially concave, convex, homogeneous and homothetic functions) as well as the static optimization theory and comparative statics. The duality theory of consumer behavior will be introduced provided that time is available.
