課程概述 Course Description

講授物理治療常見的發展遲緩與發展障礙的評估與治療,例如:早產兒、腦性麻痺、唐氏症、脊髓發育不全,及其他一些骨骼肌肉系統異常的疾病;理論與實際操作並重。

課程學習目標 Course Objectives

Upon completing the course, the students should be able to:
1. Perform basic physical examination for children in the aspects of reflexes, muscle tone, motor function and motor development
2. Differentiate the functions and limitations of various developmental assessment tools, and apply some of them
3. Make appropriate treatment plan based on empirical theories for the children with certain developmental disabilities, e.g. cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, myeoldysplasia, muscular dystrophy, developmental coordination disorder etc.
4. Be acquainted with some of the issues related to pediatric physical therapy, e.g. rehabilitation technology, law and regulation regarding early intervention, special education.
