課程概述 Course Description
訓練使用一般英文學術性字彙，以增進學生英文口語表達及批判思考能力。課程學習目標 Course Objectives
This course aims to increase students’ reading fluency while building on students’ accuracy in academic reading comprehension. Another aim would be to develop the writing skills students need to function and succeed in academic settings. Class activities include pre-reading, vocabulary and idiom preview, main reading and exercises, discussion, and the like.After completing the course, students are expected to:
a) read texts with adequate comprehension at an adequate reading rate,
b) know more college-level vocabulary,
c) develop the ability to analyze and discuss texts in a critical manner,
d) write essays or papers clearly and accurately, and
e) acquire information and do research independently.
