課程概述 Course Description
訓練使用一般英文學術性字彙，以增進學生英文口語表達及批判思考能力。課程學習目標 Course Objectives
This course aims to enhance freshmen’s four skills in English, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a particular focus on reading authentic materials, so as to prepare them to apply these skills for subsequent learning at the university. Another focus is to train students to actively express themselves in English clearly. A variety of topics will be covered to give students a taste of both general and academic English. Students will therefore be encouraged to engage themselves in reading authentic articles and discussing with classmates, which requires outlining and summarizing skills.For weekly schedule, please see Attachment 1.
