FUNDAMENTAL OF LIQUID CRYSTAL MATERIALS

This course is mainly to introduce the basic structure of liquid crystal, and basic physical properties of liquid crystals, the principle of displays, the molecular structure of materials, manufacturing process, equipment, analysis technique, and related industrial applications. By focusing on theory and practice, students are supposed to learn knowledge and related skills of liquid crystal materials. We will introduce various optical characteristics and detection methodologies, display manufacturing technology, liquid crystal polymeric materials design, color filter construction technology, polarized materials, etc. Through the course, students will understand the basics of optical knowledge and liquid crystal materials, and to understand the design principles of various elements of the display, as a basis for future research and application of liquid crystal materials, in order to cultivate relevant technical personnel in the field.
