ENVIRONMENTAL GEOCHEMISTRY

This course deals with the application of chemical principles to environmental problems. We will explore some important principles that serve as the foundations of geochemistry. Students will work on applying these tools to answer a question of interest as part of a course project. This is an expansive course which includes thermodynamics and kinetics, acid-base equilibria, redox reactions, carbon chemistry, stable and radiogenic isotopes, and the chemistry of the atmosphere.
