EXTRACTIVE AND RECYCLING OF METAL RESOURCES

Extractive and recycling of metal resources is the main target of the course. Lectures will cover extractive and recycling of all kinds of metal resources (primary and secondary resources). The course contents include introduction of minerals and waste metal resources. Pretreatment of minerals and all kinds of waste metal resources. Pyrometallurgy include the chemical theory of smelting, refining, flux, slag. Hydrometallurgy include solution filtering, the separation of solid and liquid, pure liquid, and the extraction of metal. Electrochemical process include the theory of electrowinning, electrolytic refining, electrolytic extraction and molten salt electrolysis. All kinds of extractive and recycling processes of the major metals will be covered by this course.
