This course introduces fundamental concepts of geothermal energy, including geothermal resources and origins of geothermal sources, geothermal systems. Let participating students know how to use geological, hydrogeological, geophysical and geochemical methods to explore geothermal resources. The drilling and geothermal resources assessment are also introduced during this class. Students will know many utilization of geothermal energy, such as electricity generations and direct-use of geothermal energy. Finally, this course offers the perspective from environmental and economical points to explore the impact and the future of the utilization of geothermal resources. This course will extend participating students knowledge about geothermal energy.
