MOBILE DIGITAL CULTURE HERITAGE (M-DCH)

This course’s theme is integrating IT technologies with culture heritage to have the Mobile Digital Culture Heritage (M-DCH). In contrast to the Digital Culture Heritage (DCH), which may emphasize on utilizing 2/3D animation technologies to have virtual exploring of culture heritage in a screen, M-DCH mainly emphasizes on walking into the sites of culture heritage by carrying with some handheld devices to have the physical exploring of culture heritage. That is, the purpose of M-DCH is to have the on-site exploring of the physical culture heritage through the wireless-mobile-digital assistance of some IT technologies. This course is based on the self-made M-DCH platform called Demodulating and Encoding Heritage (DEH) (http://deh.csie.ncku.edu.tw), which contains a web system and several APPs. Four parts of this course are (1) tutorial of M-DCH, (2) practice and usage of the DEH platform, (3) content creation and the potential applications of M-DCH using the DEH platform, (4) students’ presentations of their projects using the DEH platform.
