ECO-MUSEUM AND TAINAN CULTURAL ASSETS

The concept of Eco-Museum, which is a new movement of a cross era museum, came from New Museology in the 1980s. It was introduced by the French museologist Hugues de Varine-Bohan in 1971.His fundamental idea was to replace building with territory, replace collection with heritage, replace public visitors with population. It combined space, historical memory and culture, including museum, community, industry and national park where history take place. This class is to lead students to the space of Tainan city with this concept of Eco-Museum. To see its treasure through the collective memory of people, events and territory. At the end of the class, with the help of technology, will publicly have a dialogue with this historical city using image, painting, literature, music, craft, building, history and archaeology.
