INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD MUSIC

The main content of this course will be focused on the stylistic discussions of different musical repertoire and their historical culture in the world. The topics include the illustrations of traditional musical elements and the performing styles for various local instruments from Germany, French, Finland, Italy, South America, and Taiwan with comparisons to the popular music industry and public media worldwide. The representing composers and their distinctive musical styles will also be mentioned during the class.
