HISTORY OF WESTERN ART

This course is an introduction to the history of Western visual art, beginning with the classical period (ancient Greek and Roman art). It explores the development of art styles in the different periods by tracing the historical contexts of Europe. Our discussions will also include both the current artistic events and contemporary issues of multiple fields relevant to art history: the restoration of paintings and historical legacies, cultural management, etc.
