DECODING CONTEMPORARY TAIWAN CINEMA

This course aims to introduce Taiwanese Films and its development from 1980s to the present, which will be divided into two stages: “the 1980s stage” and “the 1990s~2010s stage.” We will focus on the main features, text analyses, and relevant studies during these two stages. In practice, the objectives are to inspire students’ aesthetical appreciation, to increase students’ critical thinking, and to connect students’ views between the local and global worlds.
