COLLEGE CHINESE- THE METHODOLOGY OF INTERPRETATION OF CHINESE CLASSICAL POETRY: BY IMAGES AND EMOTION

This course introduces the methodology of the interpretation of Chinese classical poetry. The goal of this course is to teach students different methods and important knowledge of how to understand and explanate Chinese classical poetry. The course of this semester will lead students to understand the intertextual relationship between objects and emotions in poems from the analytical approach of "images and emotions" The course will focus on classical poetry on the theme of love. Focus on the analysis of seasons, ornaments, social systems and the external environment. These key elements are important references when interpreting literary works. The teacher will demonstrate how "emotions" can be expressed through "images”, and how "images" can evoke the poet's "emotions".
